Puerto Jiménez

Nestled at the entrance of the Golfo Dulce, Puerto Jiménez is a vibrant coastal town located in the southern region of Costa Rica’s Puntarenas Province. Known as the southernmost and most remote maritime port in the country, this area serves as a hub for exploring the Osa Peninsula and its surrounding natural wonders.

With an average altitude of just 2 meters above sea level, Puerto Jiménez spans an area of 720.43 km², covering over half of the Osa Peninsula. This idyllic location is bordered by pristine forests and protected reserves, including parts of the world-renowned Corcovado National Park and the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve, which are shared with the neighboring canton of Osa.
